CPHI South East Asia 2026: an opportunity to gain valuable insights into the Asian pharma market

By participating in CPHI South East Asia 2026, held from 8–10 July in Bangkok, Thailand, together with our regional partner REPASSA, we had the opportunity to engage directly with pharmaceutical manufacturers and industry professionals from across the region, confirming CPHI South East Asia as an important platform for understanding market developments and the growing interest in Blow-Fill-Seal technology.

“CPHI South East Asia is particularly valuable for the Thai market, which is the reference market for BFS in Southeast Asia. For us, this exhibition is an the opportunity to reconnect with existing customers, meet new companies and strengthen our collaboration with our agents across the region,” commented Ajay Kabbur, SYFPAC® Technical Sales Manager.

Thailand: a Strategic Gateway to Southeast Asia’s Pharmaceutical Industry

Thailand is continuing its transition from traditional generic drug manufacturing towards more advanced pharmaceutical production.

This evolution is supported by several factors, including an ageing population, the government’s Medical Hub policy, investment incentives promoted by the Thailand Board of Investment (BOI), and compliance with international manufacturing standards through PIC/S membership and alignment with the latest EU Annex 1 requirements. Driven by these factors, pharmaceutical manufacturing continues to expand for both domestic demand and export markets while adopting higher production standards.

Blow-Fill-Seal across Southeast Asia

Thailand currently represents the most established BFS market in the ASEAN region, with pharmaceutical manufacturers already producing Small Volume Parenterals (SVP), Large Volume Parenterals (LVP) and ophthalmic products using Blow-Fill-Seal technology.

Across the rest of Southeast Asia, the market continues to evolve. Vietnam is investing in manufacturing upgrades to achieve higher international standards, Malaysia is strengthening its pharmaceutical sector by following Thailand’s development strategy, while Indonesia continues to expand its manufacturing capacity through technology partnerships.

Although many pharmaceutical manufacturers still rely on conventional filling technologies, BFS is gaining increasing acceptance, particularly for parenteral solutions, suspensions and ophthalmic products.

Strengthening Our Partnership with REPASSA

CPHI South East Asia also provided an opportunity to strengthen the collaboration between SYFPAC® and REPASSA, one of the leading pharmaceutical engineering companies in Southeast Asia. With offices across the region and a well-established after-sales network, our partner combines local market knowledge with technical expertise, supporting pharmaceutical manufacturers throughout the ASEAN market and contributing to the adoption of innovative Blow-Fill-Seal solutions.
